Upper School EOY Details

Dear Parents,

We are ready for summer and it is almost there!  May 15 marks the final day of school for our seniors, and May 22 marks the final “official” day for grades 9-11. Synchronous classes will wrap up before then in order to give students time to complete any final assignments.  This letter is “all meat” – just answers to end of year questions.  Should any issues arise, you are welcome to reach out to Mrs. Winter (erin.winter@ashevillechristian.org) or myself.

End of Year Wrap-up: On May 22nd, Students in grades 9-11 will be scheduled to drop off any books, jerseys, library books, or instruments and sheet music that they had acquired during the school year. They will also receive their locker contents at this exchange. There will be a designated time for you to come by the school, so please be on the lookout for this communication. Having everything turned in is one of the requirements to receiving end-of-the-year grades/transcripts. More information is on its way.

4th Quarter Grades: My previous email laid out our new academic policies. I will not restate those here, but I do encourage students to finish well. Some students have communicated that they might not complete any of the final work in the hopes that it will be forgiven. As much as we would love to stay in touch with students over the summer, we would prefer that it not be the result of an “incomplete grade.” We will be in touch over the coming days if your student is in danger of being in this category due to lack of engagement in a class.

Senior Events: The Senior Appreciation Video will be released this afternoon around 5:00 pm. Check it out at www.youtube.com/ashevillechristianacademy. Please remember that on-campus ceremonies and celebrations are only for immediate family members and designated faculty.

One day we will look back on this season, reflecting on all that was said and done. My prayer is that we remember treating one another with dignity and grace by relying on God’s faithfulness, which has continued through all generations (Psalm 119). Finish well!

Sincerely,

Wade Tapp
