Summer Camp FAQs
+ Why Summer Camp?
We believe in educating the whole child: mind, body, spirit. Asheville Christian summer day camps allow a variety of activities and lessons not typically offered during the school year. Learn a new sport, a new skill, or get reinforcement in an academic area. Whatever your goal, we hope you can find a place for you!
+ General FAQs
I forgot to pre-register, can I still get my child into the camp? Our camps can fill up fast, so register early! Registration will remain open until each camp has reached its max capacity or the start of camp. If the camp is full, you will have the option to be added to a wait list. Walk-up campers must register and pay in full before attending a camp. Space is not guaranteed for walk-up campers.
Does my child have to be enrolled at Asheville Christian to attend the summer camp? We welcome any school-aged children from the community.
Is lunch provided? Most camps are only half-day camps. Campers must provide their own lunch if attending an all-day camp or if attending two consecutive camp sessions.
When should I drop off and pick up my child? Campers should be dropped off NO EARLIER than 15 minutes before the camp begins, and picked up NO LATER than 15 minutes after the camp ends (unless attending a camp that starts within an hour). A $10 child care fee will be charged each day a camper is not picked up within 15 minutes.
What is the cost to attend a summer camp? The cost of each camp varies depending on the supplies needed. See the camp brochure for details.
How many spaces are in each camp? Some camps have more space than others. We encourage you to register as soon as possible to guarantee your child a spot in the camp(s) of their choosing, especially if there is a smaller class cap.
Are cell phones allowed? Cell phones are allowed, but not encouraged. Cell phones should remain off and out of sight during all camps.
+ Cancellation Policy
Am I eligible for a refund if I have to cancel? We do not issue refunds for camps unless you have to cancel due to a significant hardship (death in the family, emergency, etc.). In case of hardship, the first option explored will be to apply your registration fee toward another ACA camp later in the summer. The second option (for ACA families ONLY) is to apply the registration fee to next year's tuition.
Dismissal due to behavior. Campers dismissed from camp due to unacceptable behavior will not be issued a refund.
What about sports (or other) camps and bad weather? Weather will not affect summer camps. Spaces have been reserved for indoor use in case of inclement weather. For example, the baseball camp will move to the enclosed batting cage if there is rain.
