Keri Boer
Director of College Guidance
BA, Bethel University, MN; MSW, Univ of Nebraska, Omaha; Certified Guidance Professional, Anderson University, SC
Keri earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Bethel University (MN) and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After working for several years as a psychotherapist and adoption services coordinator, she and her husband, Rob, moved to Black Mountain, NC from her home state of Iowa in 2002. Rob was a music professor at Montreat College and Keri worked there for fifteen years in various roles including teaching, counseling, and serving in Enrollment Management, culminating as the Registrar. Their daughter was born in 2004, started attending Asheville Christian in 4th grade, and graduated in 2022. Rob passed away in 2022, as well.
Keri was thrilled to begin work at ACA in 2017 as Director of College Guidance. This position beautifully weaves together all of her previous work experiences with her heart for students. Keri describes what ignites her passion for her job by stating, “It is a joy to discover how God has uniquely fashioned each child, and exploring the plans He has for each one. I love encouraging students to embrace their identities in Christ, reduce their anxieties, and demystify the college admissions process.”
Contact Mrs. Bullock by email:
Caroline J. Bullock
Guidance Counselor
BA, Montreat College; Certified College Access Counselor, Rice University
After growing up in coastal Virginia, Caroline earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies at Montreat College. Surprising everyone, she and her husband, Brad, stayed in the Western North Carolina area. They have a daughter, Hazel, who is entering ACA as a Freshman for the 2024-2025 school year. Their family loves all the outdoor opportunities afforded them in these beautiful mountains.
Caroline taught Spanish and Latin for 12 years and then transitioned to the role of College Guidance Counselor. She worked in that position for 7 years and was delighted to come on board at ACA as both a Guidance Counselor and the SIP Assistant. Caroline loves the chance to specialize with students in the college decision-making process and in the classroom to help them synthesize their years of learning in the SIP course. Caroline sees her work as a small piece of the development of her students. “We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it; the process is not yet finished, but it is going on; this is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified.” (Martin Luther)
